Rankeilor Arnott – Motueka
Hi, my name is Rankeilor and I am the Motueka Support Group Coordinator. Happily married to Pete for 25 years, we share three children and five grandchildren and although we don't raise them, we are very involved in their lives.
Several years ago, a close friend was seeking help raising her two challenging grandchildren but couldn’t find others who truly understood her situation. I felt strong empathy for her and for other grandparents in Motueka facing similar challenges. We approached Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Trust New Zealand and our local support group was formed.
Now a lively group, we meet twice a month for mutual support and gather once a month with grandchildren and extended whānau for fun, food, and games.
