Jennifer Porter – Matamata Piako
I recognise that both children and families thrive with appropriate support and I believe that investing in our children is crucial for shaping our future. As a young mum, I was actively involved in breastfeeding support and child development education. I served on both Kindy and Scout committees, continuing to support children in my community. As a community pharmacist, I was able to contribute to the health of the communities I served.
I relax by gardening, cooking, sewing and taking bush walks. Recognising that grandparents also need nurturing, I aim to use my skills and experiences to support them and kin caregivers in their health and wellbeing. Recently, I organised an exercise and social group for over sixty-fives in Morrinsville. My objective is to assist caregivers in building strong, resilient, and thriving families.
