Brad Clark

Brad Clark - Chief Executive Officer

Brad joined the Grandparents Raising Grandchildren in January 2024 bringing a wealth of experience from the commercial/corporate, and social-profit (charity) worlds having spent time in financial services, hospitality, professional and community sport, and social-profit (charitable) sectors. Social-profit roles have included CanTeen, Starship Foundation, and Auckland Museum in leadership and chief executive roles, raising significant awareness and funds for child health, adolescents/young adults, and community projects.

He has two active kids, daughter Kaitlin 13, and son Bailey 10 and enjoys coaching various sports they are involved in and stays active mountain biking, swimming and running with his partner Ilona, a primary school teacher.

Originally from the East Coast of Canada, growing up in Nova Scotia, he attended Acadia University completing a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) as a student-athlete, playing varsity football and rugby. While working in Toronto, managing bars and restaurants for a couple of years, his parents moved to the North Shore of Auckland in the early 90’s, and he wasn’t far behind, intending to visit for an OE (overseas experience) and never left. He is now a proud New Zealander for more than 30-years and has a strong sense of place and pride in our unique bi-cultural and multi-cultural character.

His passion for Grandparents Raising Grandchildren comes from his belief in helping others and is inspired by the stories he has heard and the amazing people he has met looking after their tamariki, typically under traumatic circumstances. Working closely with the Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Board, and team, his sights are firmly set on ensuring GRG remains sustainable and future-focused to evolve to provide even more support and care for our grandparents and caregivers throughout Aotearoa New Zealand.
